Two Algerian universities have achieved leadership by obtaining compliance certification for their quality management system according to the international standard (2015: ISO 9001), as part of Algeria's efforts to establish a modern fourth-generation university model.

Both Ibn Khaldun University in Tiaret and Blida 2 University received the compliance certification for their quality management system according to the international standard (2015: ISO 9001) after completing the external audit process, and were congratulated by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Bedari, who noted that "these rankings are a lever for the quality challenge, and produce knowledge and wealth while keeping pace with the requirements of the era and the challenges of international competitiveness in higher education."

It is noteworthy that nine Algerian universities made a remarkable presence in an international ranking last June, as they were included among the top 2250 universities globally in terms of academic performance and international reputation, according to the "The New Best Global Universities" ranking.

Regarding these rankings, Professor at the Institute of Arabic Language and Literature Mourad Aissawi explained: "The certification obtained by the two universities is the global standard for quality management systems issued by the International Organization for Standardization," meaning that "their administrative and operational systems comply with strict quality standards that ensure the provision of services or products at a stable and sustainable level."

The university professor and academic researcher added in his statement to "Al Arabiya.net": "These global arrangements reflect a development in Algeria at the level of higher education, and highlight Algerian universities on the regional and international levels."

According to the speaker: "There are other universities that have ranked high in global rankings, such as the "Shanghai Ranking" and "Times Higher Education."

He attributed the emergence of Algerian universities to the policy adopted by the Algerian state, by allocating more than 25% of the general budget to two sectors considered strategic, namely education (basic education) and higher education (university education).

Aissawi called for the necessity of supporting university graduates by enhancing coordination between the university and various economic sectors in particular.
