Two Dead and 36 Injured in Shooting at Party in the U.S. State of Georgia

Local officials and officials from the state of Georgia in the United States reported that two people were killed and about 36 others were injured, some in critical condition, in a shooting incident early Sunday during a party in one of the state's neighborhoods.

Craig Beaty, the sheriff of Dougherty County, stated at a press conference that two men, aged 21 and 23, were shot in the city of Vienna, Georgia, about 216 kilometers south of Atlanta.

Officials informed reporters that 35 people were injured, most of them from gunshot wounds.

They added that hundreds of people attended the party, which was held at the end of the back-to-school week for high school in Dougherty County.

Authorities do not believe that the threat to the public is still ongoing, but they have not publicly disclosed the names of any suspects or individuals related to the incident, nor have they identified the motive behind the shooting.

Chris Hosey, the director of the investigation office in Georgia, said, "We do not want to assume what caused the incident."
