Jerusalem - Ofoq News - Our Palestinian sports delegation participated today, Saturday, in the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games 'Aichi-Nagoya 2026', which was held at the Paloma Mizuho Stadium in Nagoya, Japan, in the presence of delegations from participating countries and sports missions in the continental event.
The members of the Palestinian delegation entered the field as part of the parade of participating delegations, raising the Palestinian flag, in a scene that carried a notable national presence during the opening ceremony, amidst the cheers of the audience and attending delegations.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jibril Rajoub, President of the Palestinian Olympic Committee, who followed the proceedings of the Palestinian delegation's entry and the athletes' participation in this continental sports event.
Palestine is participating in the games with a delegation of 108 members, including 67 male and female athletes, competing in 19 individual and team sports, in a participation that reflects the Palestinian presence in various competitions within this continental sports event.
The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games competitions will take place from September 19 to October 4, with the participation of 45 countries, and the program includes 43 sports.
Palestinian athletes will continue to compete in the coming days, with aspirations to deliver outstanding performances and achieve results that reflect the presence of Palestinian sports in this continental event.
