With this defeat, Al-Ahli's journey in the Club World Cup has ended, while Mamelodi Sundowns claimed the Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup title. The "Raqi" team, the reigning champion of the AFC Champions League, had previously defeated its opponent Auckland City from New Zealand with a score of 1-2 in the first round.
