"Fashion Show of Insects".. What Happened at New York Fashion Week?

- American designer Thom Browne concluded New York Fashion Week with a presentation of his Spring/Summer 2027 collection, transforming the Shed arts center in the Hudson Yards area into a space resembling an exotic garden, where various insects appeared in a scene inspired by transformation in the natural world. From the beginning of the show, the atmosphere of the garden and nature was clearly dominant in the decor and clothing, while the idea of transformation from caterpillar to butterfly was one of the main themes of the collection, reflected in its details and formations.

Insects, bees, and dragonflies appeared alongside beehives and floral motifs within the embroidery and details integrated into several pieces. These elements were not limited to flat decorations; some took on prominent and three-dimensional shapes, while some designs were inspired by wing shapes, details of beetles, ladybugs, and other elements from the insect world.

At the same time, the collection maintained essential elements in the American designer's style, including jackets, tailored pieces, shirts, and ties. These elements, alongside nature-inspired details, balanced the collection between formal pieces in bold colors and other elements from nature such as flowers and leaves.

The show was attended by several prominent names in the fashion and film world, including American actress Demi Moore, former editor-in-chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour, and Australian actress Naomi Watts. This direction continues what was also seen in the men's collection for Spring 2027, which Browne presented in Milan last June, where the designer drew inspiration from the shapes of spiders, bees, dragonflies, and other nature-inspired creatures.
